The Southern Cross (Crux) is that distinctive configuration of stars that we know on the flags of Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and many other Southern Hemisphere countries. It's an important constellation, always there if you live below 34° southern latitude, the stars of its vertical axis pointing the way to the South Pole. As a feature section where our austral friends would be able to create haiga that is seasonal for their own experience, my hope was that 'Southern Cross' would achieve a distinctive 'sense of place' and perhaps even become an ongoing feature of Haigaonline. if I do say so, the haiga we have collected here achieve this beyond my wildest expectations. They are very special haiga and we hope you enjoy them.

Peace and a joyous summer solstice to us all!
