new haiga by an'ya

How pleased we are to have an'ya with us again! Doubtless all our readers know that an'ya, former editor of Haigaonline, is currently the editor of Moonset, the international literary newspaper dedicated to the poetic and visual studies of Japanese art forms.

In its adoption of a 12x18 in. page size, columnar format and use of newsprint, Moonset is groundbreaking as a poetry publication. The recent issue had no less than 48 pages of haiku, senryu, tanka, haibun and haiga. In addition to poetry, it included features on individual poets, artists and editors, how-to' articles, book reviews, calls for submissions, and contest announcements and results.

The circulation is growing steadily, and in the recent issue they have announced a campaign to become a non-profit charity. We all benefit from Moonset's continuing success, so if you haven't yet subscribed or made a donation, please consider doing so.
