Barbara Kaufmann

Barbara, who lives on Long Island, New York, is a retired R.N. who lists her many interests as gardening, hiking, sailing, contemplative prayer, classical music, birdwatching, photography, writing and poetry. She has been writing haiku and other Japanese short forms since 2012.

Her haiga have been published in Cattails, Daily Haiga, A Hundred Gourds, TanshiArt, Tinywords, The Urban Halcyon and The World Haiku Association's Haiga Contest, as well as here at Haigaonline.

Barbara has two blogs, Wabi Sabi, and The Healthy Nut. She's also active on Facebook and Twitter.

As for the haiga, she tells me that she uses many photography programs and apps to modify her images, often putting the image through several different revisions. Some that were used for these images include Photoshop, Waterlogue, Glaze, PicsArt and PicMonkey.
