Jeff has developed a very distinctive approach to digital manipulation. In this series, the original picture of the bird in its landscape setting remains intact as the basis of the image, and sections have been lassoed and treated with different filters. The effect is as a representational image that has been built in collage of found papers in a variety of textures. It's a perfect complement to Jeff's haiku style—objective and economical while also incorporating word play.
A graduate of Eastern Michigan University with honors in language arts (linguistics) and classical political theory, Jeff has traveled through the US and the Caribbean, and has lived in California, New Mexico and West Virginia. Having returned to Michigan, he now resides in Windsor, Ontario and works in Detroit. More of his haiga and poetry may be seen in Haigaonline, Contemporary Haibun Online and Sketchbook. He is also represented at www.thehypertexts.com.
